CycleFit is a great way to start your day. This is Michelle Lorton's 5:30am CycleFit class at FitClub South. Thanks to everyone willing to be in an early morning photo :)

Curious about trying CycleFit and wondering what to expect? So was I. CycleFit is a unique experience, designed for every level of fitness, and easy to learn. Take a look at the FitClub schedule and find a class that fits in your day and get excited!

Arrive early enough to get comfortable. If you’re interested in taking your first CycleFit class, make sure you leave yourself enough time to get the bike properly adjusted to your height and comfort level and to take a few minutes to warm up with some easy cycling. When arriving for your first CycleFit class, check in with the front desk to reserve your bike and pick up your card. Once you reserve your bike, the instructors can help you set the seat and handlebars and show you how to use the resistance to ensure that you have a safe and effective workout.

Expect the Class to be Fun.
Workouts don’t have to be boring to be effective. CycleFit is designed to be a fun class experience, complete with dim lights and fast-paced music. You can expect your FitClub instructor to be high energy, changing up the pace or resistance to match the beat of the music and the flow of the class. You won’t be sitting still on a stationary bike. You’ll be competing with the music and constantly changing position and resistance.
An hour goes much faster when you’re listening to great music and feeding off the energy of your instructor and classmates.

Expect to be challenged.
One of the great benefits to a CycleFit class is that it’s appropriate and challenging for all fitness levels. Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or new to the bike, you increase the resistance and speed at your own pace. While you benefit from the energy of your classmates, you challenge yourself to go faster, harder, and stronger each class.

You are going to sweat.
Wear moisture wicking clothes and bring a water bottle and towel. You are going to sweat in these classes! As your instructor challenges you to increase the pace or stand up to mimic climbing a hill, it’s important to stay properly hydrated throughout the workout. The bikes have places to hold your water, and you’ll want to drape that hand towel over the handlebars to wipe off your face and hands before the workout is finished.

Don’t ignore the stretch.
At the end of the class, the instructor will walk you through simple and effective stretching that you do not want to skip. If this is your first trip to CycleFit, you may be a little sore and following the instructor’s guidance will minimize soreness and start speeding recovery. The stretches after the class are also a well-deserved reward for your legs!
Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try CycleFit. If you’re looking for an effective cardiovascular workout that provides an individualized challenge in a group setting, find your class at FitClub and get started.
