We all deserve to get ourselves something for Christmas and the motivation to stay healthy and fit during the holidays is the priceless gift that keeps on giving all year long. As your schedule fills up with holiday chores and parties, be sure to make yourself a priority and commit to staying motivated during this busy time of year.

  1. Focus on the energy you’ll gain from a workout. If the idea of Christmas shopping, cooking, and holiday parties leaves you feeling exhausted, focus on the additional energy you receive from a good workout for motivation. With the shorter days and busier schedules, it’s more important than ever to find energy wherever possible. Fitting in a workout during a busy day ensures that your body and mind stay energized and that you can accomplish everything on the Christmas to-do-list.

  2. Mix it up. Holiday obligations can make it difficult to stick to your usual FitClub schedule, but instead of letting that derail your workout, try to see it as an opportunity to mix up your normal routine. Take a look at your schedule and the FitClub class schedules, and then decide what makes it possible to make it to your office holiday party and get in a great workout. You may discover a new favorite class you haven’t tried yet.

  3. Think of it as your “me time”. Scheduling time for self care and relaxation can be difficult when you’re focused on family and friends during the holidays. Instead of treating your workout like just another obligation in an already busy schedule, think of your workout as your personal time to unwind, take care of yourself, and get in some much needed holiday “me time”. Your family and friends all benefit when you’re at your happiest, healthiest self.

  4. Plan a healthy reward. If you’ve been thinking of adding to your fitness wardrobe or have had your eye on a new gadget, this is a great time of year to take advantage of sales and holiday prices. Check out FitClub’s online store and reward yourself for staying fit during the holidays with a new purchase.

  5. Plan a new challenge. If your workout routine has lost its magic, this is a great time of year to set up a new challenge. Get a jump start on New Year’s resolutions and challenge yourself to make it to FitClub every day between now and Christmas, experiment with a new class each week, or add weight to your strength training routine. The options are endless and when you come up with a holiday workout challenge you love, be sure to share it with your fellow FitClub members. We can all benefit from each other’s motivation this time of year.

The days between Thanksgiving and Christmas can be busy and stressful, but you don’t have to let it zap your motivation to live a healthier life. Staying focused on your goals and making healthy living a priority will help you have the merriest of holiday seasons!
